Some how this method works for my router. ( it's my 1st time to have a partially bricked router. Took me 2 days and was already getting ready for jtag. Posted: Wed 17:22 Post subject: wrt610nv1 partial brickedĢ weeks ago my wrt610v1 with ddwrt 14929 firmware suddenly got partially bricked, power led blinks. Since no one had anymore suggestions, I was desperate and decided to short pins 8&9 and I was able to get to the management mode to flash with the mini and then flash with the big, so far its working. Posted: Sat 0:58 Post subject: In desperation Is there an option for the v1? It uses the EON chip (EN29LV640B-90TIP) I followed your pin short post for wrt610nv2 to bring it into management mode, it worked every time. Thanks, Eko, but the file was too big, got transfer cancelled message from tftp. Maybe it will work with if cfe has right command to flash it. I had also flashed dd-wrt.v24-16754_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_wrt610nv2.bin into the router, with the same result, webgui cannot be accessed.Ħ10nv1 needs 610n trailed build. Version 2 has an on/off switch like the E3000, but version 1 does not. My router is version 1, but I also have a version 2, version 1 has the option to overclock in the admin tab, but version 2 does not. ![]() Posted: Fri 3:52 Post subject: Re: wrt610n v1 The title of the post is a 610v1 but the body refers to a 610v2. You should use the build in the 610v2 wiki install for that router. Pretty sure that you need a k26 build for that router. Posted: Fri 2:03 Post subject: Re: wrt610n v1 However, the web gui cannot be accessed.ģ - waited over ten minutes, web gui still cannot be accessedĤ - if router is powered off and on, it will respond to ping with a few TTL=100, then it times out.Ģ - how can I get it into management mode? Once the image is flashed, the router will remain pingable at TTL=100 with not time outs. Posted: Thu 20:40 Post subject: wrt610n v1Ģ - can (able to) tftp dd-wrt.v24_mini_gerneric.bin into router. Note 6 in particular (as well as the whole thread) It would be nice if you could attach the link. I appricate your reply, but I did a search for 'peacock announcement' and it returned 101 pages of posts. ![]() If you don't have time to read thoroughly, I don't have time to re-type what you missed. The power led stays solid after about 10 seconds of flashing from power up. The wrt610n uses EON en29lv640b-90tip chip. ![]() Once I power off the router, the pings will become timeouts after the initial few successful TTL=100 pings.ĭoes anyone know how I can get my v1 back into Management Firmware update?ĭoing the power on, wait 2-2.5 sec, then reset button for 5 sec, does not work. I can also TFTP a build with a size smaller than 4MB, and the ping will continue at TTL=100. I get a few pings when it powers up with a TTL=100. While I was flashing the v1, I hit the off switch on the power bar by accident and now the v1 is partially bricked. I was stupid, I flashed it with the wrong build again and had to re-open the router and re-short the pins - doh…Īfter I had updated the wrt61Nv2 to 14896 build, I wanted to update my wrt610Nv1 to the same build from 13064.īy now, I felt that I had enough experience to avoid any bricks - a bit cocky, I know. Note to anyone trying to do this don’t put the router back together before you have tested the build works, as I had done. Once logged in with PC set to static IP 192.168.1.10, I was able to re-flash the correct dd-wrt.v24-14896_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin. I tried all the recovery methods, but none worked, except for shorting pins 8&9, which brought it back to Management Firmware update. I recently acquired a used wrt610Nv2 and mistakenly flashed it with an incorrect build (mega instead of big). Posted: Wed 22:05 Post subject: How to restore a partially bricked wrt610n v1
